Ethanol plants are asking for Processor Preferred High Fermentable Corn (HFC) and High Extractable Starch Corn (HES) that are ideal for ethanol production. And in many cases, processors will offer premiums to obtain it. As you consider your grain marketing options, look for the symbols identifying FS Seed Corn products approved for ethanol contracting opportunities in your area.

Processor Preferred High Fermentable Corn (HFC) can deliver higher levels of fermentable starch to dry-mill ethanol plants, producing higher ethanol yields and greater profit potential.

Processor Preferred High Extractable Starch (HES) can deliver higher levels of extractable starch, which allows corn wet millers to produce higher pure starch yields desirable for ethanol processing. Other end uses are high fructose corn syrup, snack foods and commodity products.
